For the first time in over two months, Russia launched a coordinated missile and drone attack on the Ukrainian capital Kyiv. On Wednesday morning, sirens sounded for hours across the city as defensive forces engaged in intercepting multiple projectiles.

Russia intensified its attacks on Kyiv early Wednesday, launching a combined assault of drones and missiles on the capital for the first time in over 70 days, local authorities reported. The attack coincided with new warnings from the U.

Russia’s Defense Ministry said its air defense systems intercepted 70 Ukrainian drones over six regions, including 34 over the Moscow region.
