An Etihad Airways plane lands at Heathrow during Storm Isha in London. DUBAI (Reuters) - Abu Dhabi carrier Etihad Airways reported a 66% increase in net profit in the first nine months of the year, helped by a double-digit increase in passenger traffic.

Etihad Airways has said that its network expansion strategy and significant business growth in its cargo division have allowed the airline to grow its revenues by 21%, resulting in a substantial increase in profitability.

Abu Dhabi-based Etihad Airways has reported profits of $368M for the first nine months of 2024, up by 66% over the same period in 2023.

Etihad Aviation Group CEO Antonoaldo Neves said: "We are happy to report a strong performance for the first nine months of the 2024 financial year, with a 21 percent increase in revenue and a 66 percent increase in profit after tax compared to the same period in 2023."

Middle Eastern carrier Etihad Airways is crediting a strong summer season, following network expansion, for a substantial improvement in profitability at the nine-month mark.
