Kansas Jayhawks fans had to wait extra long to find out if KU was going to snap its losing streak. Which made it that much worse when the Jayhawks threw the game away 5:30 hours after the opening kickoff, falling to WVU 32-28.

West Virginia came up with a much-needed 32-28 win over Kansas on Saturday in their first conference matchup of the year. A lengthy weather delay had teams sitting in the locker room for nearly two hours before what shaped up to be a thrilling ending in the fourth quarter.

The Jayhawks sent their punting unit onto the field, and eventually took a delay-of-game penalty after which the referees reviewed an incompletion on third down. After the game resumed two hours later, Kansas punted the ball — now on fourth-and-7 — while leading 21-17.
