Marion Arkansas Police Department detained multiple people at Marion High School after reports of armed students caused the campus to go on lockdown Friday morning on Sept. 20. Officers with the Marion Police Department were responding to reports of people armed with weapons on campus.

The district was notified of the alleged threat Friday morning and the high school was immediately placed on lockdown.

The Marion police, with the assistance of other state law enforcement, responded Friday to a report of possibly armed students at Marion High School, according to a social media post by the department.

Police said the scene was secure, no one was injured, and they were working with the school to get the students released.
