Officials said a pair of Massachusetts families are without their homes after a fire broke out, shot fireworks into the sky and destroyed two homes.

SPENCER, Mass. - Exploding propane tanks and fireworks created a massive, chaotic blaze in Massachusetts on Monday, destroying two homes and damaging one other. Pictures and video from the scene showed intense flames fed by a propane tank in the basement, as well as fireworks exploding in the air.

At about 5:30 a.m., dispatch began receiving reports that a fire broke out at the Sanctuary on Penn. By 7 a.m., much of the church was destroyed.
