Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Shubman Gill engaged in some playful banter in the dressing room during the first session of play on Day 2 as they waited for their chance to take the field. Kohli and Rohit had a disappointing outing with the bat in both innings.

The twist came after Kohli left the field as TV replay confirmed there was a nick as the ball went past Kohli's bats before hitting the pads. As UltraEdge showed spike, Rohit Sharma and Richard Kettleborough, the umpire who gave the decision, expressed shocked on Kohli's decision to not go for the review.

With a lead of 227 runs, India ended second at 81 for 3 with Shubman Gill (33 batting) and Rishabh Pant (12 batting) at the crease. The rest of the six Bangladesh wickets were equally shared by rookie Akash Deep (2/19), seasoned Ravindra Jadeja (2/19) and Mohammed Siraj (2/30).
