A Manitowoc County judge bound Jesse Vang over for trial on charges of causing the 3-year-old boy's death during a preliminary hearing Nov. 6.

MANITOWOC – A new preliminary hearing date has been set for Jesse Vang as he faces charges related to the death of 3-year-old Elijah Vue. Vang is scheduled to appear at Manitowoc County Courthouse at 2:30 p.m. Nov. 6.

MANITOWOC, Wis. (WKOW) – A judge has determined there is probable cause to proceed with the trial of Jesse Vang. Vang, the boyfriend of Elijah Vue's mother, Katrina Baur, appeared in court Wednesday for his preliminary hearing, facing new charges related to the case.

Jesse Vang and Katrina B. Baur will remain in custody at Manitowoc County Jail after higher bails were set in the child death cases.

Baur was arrested in February, shortly after her 3-year-old son, Elijah Vue, was reported missing. She was charged with child neglect and obstructing an officer.

MANITOWOC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Jesse Vang was ordered to stand trial Wednesday after law enforcement testified as to how 3-year-old Elijah Vue was treated at Vang’s apartment. The caregiver charged in the boy’s death returned to court Wednesday for a preliminary hearing. Vang is set to be arraigned Nov. 18.

Jesse Vang’s defense attorney contested his preliminary hearing on Wednesday, forcing the state to call witnesses to the stand to prove its case.

Jesse Vang, the boyfriend of Elijah Vue’s mother, appeared in court on Wednesday and was bound over for trial in connection with the death of three-year-old Elijah Vue. Vang, 40, faces two felony charges and one misdemeanor charge.
