Vice President Kamala Harris is leading Donald Trump in two national polls of registered voters released Sunday, underscoring her momentum as the US presidential candidates grapple for a boost with early voting underway in several states.

The 2024 presidential election between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump continues to be the closest of the century. In fact, it is the closest in the past 60 years.

After running neck-and-neck with Trump, Harris is ahead in all polls now, according to realclearpolling.com. Harris enjoys a 51.8% chance of becoming president in November's election, while Trump has a 46.9% chance. This differs from a week ago when the two were virtually tied. Betfair gives Harris a 50% chance, Trump a 45% chance.

In the first two months of her campaign, Harris has met or exceeded expectations, but she has to do more to pull ahead of Donald Trump in the battleground states.
