During the trial for Chad Daybell, his property was given to his defense attorney, as a method of securing payment. After the trial was completed, the property was listed for sale. A non-profit, known as SJ Healing Crossroads, bought the property in 2024, and had a part in having the house torn down.

Daybell is now on death row in Idaho after being convicted of murdering his wife and two step-children, and the community is hoping demolishing his house will bring closure and help them heal.

Chad Daybell’s former home and the outbuildings on his Fremont County property were demolished Friday. SJ Healing Crossroads, a local nonprofit organization, took ownership of the 3.75-acre lot at 202 North 1900 East last month.
