NEW ORLEANS – Tulane quarterback Ty Thompson withdrew his name from the transfer portal on Tuesday, according to a source. Thompson has one year of eligibility remaining. He originally entered the portal December 11th, and still started for the Green Wave in the team’s 33-8 loss to Florida in the Gasparilla Bowl.

Tulane coach Jon Sumrall said he wanted two quarterbacks with plenty of starting experience and a third with college playing experience out of the transfer portal, and that is exactly what he has gotten with the addition of a former Ball State starter on Sunday.

The Tulane Green Wave have relied on a proven strategy of identifying perhaps undervalued FCS players as they continue to bolster their roster through the transfer portal.
