Nov 23, 2020 · I recently got the LG Ultrawide 49WL95C-W which I was keeping fresh for my ordered M1 MBA. The monitor has max resolution of 5120x1440...I received my MBA M1, 16GB and 1TB, and...the screen runs at max 3440 x 1080. ? I searched around but can't find if this is a driver problem, OS and if there is a fix? Please help!
Does the MacBook Pro M1 support DisplayPort 1.4?
Dec 16, 2020 · Yes, it supports 4K@60Hz with HDR with the official Apple adapter. 4K60 only requires DisplayPort 1.2, though. DisplayPort 1.4 is where you get 8K60 and all that. And... from my limited testing, I don't think the M1 MacBook Pro supports anything past 6K, so it technically does not support DisplayPort 1.4 right now.

Dec 26, 2021 · macrumors 6502. I’ve been trying to use an M1 Pro Macbook Pro 16” with an HP Omen 27” monitor through a DisplayPort 1.4 to USB C cable. The monitor defaults to a refresh rate of 165 Hz. Whenever I plug it in and the setup is at this refresh rate I see vertical pink and green bars on the image.

For some reason, the MacOS lets your CPU cores get up over 100C before any fans really kick in... This is with my power settings set to automatic. They were just sitting there at 1600RPM and the CPU is about to melt.

That's a "theoretical limit" and I doubt that anyone ever sees it. You MIGHT get upwards of 900MBps. You're more likely to get reads of 800+MBps and writes in the 600-700 range.

It's hard to believe M1 is about to turn 4 years old. This is why I don't recommend the M1 macbook air to people who are going to keep the machine for more then 3-4 years ...
Is 20w adapter enough to charge and operate M1 MacBook Air?
Nov 20, 2020 · 2019 Macbook Air, 18W charger: - Will slowly charge with normal tasks (Safari, Pages, Keynote). - Won't charge when using apps that use a lot of resources (like FCPX editing). - Will slowly lose battery percentage when pushing the laptop (like FCPX rendering) With M1 Air and 20W charger it will be only better than this.

The speed and performance are phenomenal—it's like night and day. This M1 Pro is a smooth, noiseless beast! 😄. I managed to snag a great deal from a shopkeeper with a good bargain.
